An integral part of marketing strategy is related to competition; therefore, in order to excel in the arena of competition we must able to identify competitors and the intensity of competition.

Competitors are companies that produce or sell goods / services are the same or similar as the products that we offer.

Objectives of identifying competitors is that companies have enough knowledge about competitors in order to estimate the ability of competitors, so that competing strategies companies can be formulated to take into account the possibility of action and competitor response. As Sun Tzu said:
“Knowledge of the enemy and yourself: … in the hundreds of war.
You will never in danger. If you do not know about
enemy and yourself, your chances of winning or losing are
same. If you do not know the enemy and ourselves
, in every war would be in danger “.
